Judge Gore and teen court volunteers presented a promotional video and program statistics. Judge Gore said the program earned more than 1,148 hours of community service from jurors and 202 hours from student attorneys through May of last year, and that 65 defendants elected teen court in the past year. He said 45 of those defendants successfully completed their community‑service assessments and had their cases dismissed; the remaining cases were either still in progress or had returned to court after unsuccessful compliance.
Judge Gore also reported competitive success: Allen sent two student teams to the state competition this year and finished second and third. He described the program as a learning and rehabilitation opportunity that helps participants build public‑speaking, critical‑thinking and civic skills.
The council adopted a proclamation recognizing teen court volunteers, youth participants and staff for their contributions. Judge Gore encouraged students and residents to sign up as jurors or for the Teen Court Academy to learn more about participating.
No formal council action beyond the proclamation was required.
