Council approves application for USTA grant to upgrade Richland Tennis Center lighting

"The change to LED fixtures would provide for a more uniform lighting without degradation throughout the court plain surface and offers a more energy efficient court lighting solution," the presenter said. Staff recommended approving the resolution to enable formal application and acceptance if the city is awarded funds.
Councilmembers commended staff for pursuing grants. Councilmember Susie Compton (thanked by another member as "Adrian" in the transcript) and Councilmember Tito Rodriguez seconded the motion. The motion passed 7-0.
No matching funds or budget adjustments were approved at the meeting; the resolution authorized application and acceptance of award if granted. Staff said they would return with details of any award and required match or implementation steps if the grant is received.
