The Select Board voted to open the annual town meeting warrant, amend the warrant by removing Articles 5, 7, 9 and 14, and to close and sign the revised warrant.
Town staff explained the deleted articles related to additional appropriations for FY25 (Article 5), prior-year unpaid bills (Article 7), rescinding unissued borrowing balances (Article 9) and a previously voted action (Article 14). The amended warrant was renumbered for the town meeting warrant packet. The board passed three motions on the record—open, amend and close—each by voice vote and each recorded as passing unanimously.
On citizen petitions, staff said zoning petitions will be reviewed by the town planner and building commissioner and then transmitted to town counsel for a form-and-legality review; petitioners retain the right to amend their petitions on the floor in triplicate. Staff said any issues identified by counsel will be communicated in advance to petitioners so they may correct or amend proposals before town meeting.
The chair directed staff to sign the warrant and move forward with the notice and posting process; the constable will be at the town clerk’s office for required service the following day.
