The clarification responded to a Parks and Recreation Commission request for guidance following the council’s April 14 directive. Councilor Stokes moved that the subcommittee’s purpose include both short-term design work and a longer-term facilities assessment; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously, 5–0.
The town administrator noted the department’s needs will be considered as part of the broader five‑year capital improvement plan. Councilors asked for a future update from DPW and the parks director to outline specific requirements, timeline and cost estimates for any relocation or construction work.
