The Town of Mansfield Select Board voted unanimously to grant a common victualer (food-service) license to Ladesa Cafe after owners described plans for a downtown eatery.
Owners Zaina Tabahana and Antoine Hanna told the board they plan a café featuring a salad bar, sandwiches, pastries and a sit-down atmosphere. “We’re planning to have a cafe with, like, a salad bar, sandwiches, some, like, a bakery, pastry, and like a nice atmosphere, people to hang out there, socialize,” Tabahana said.
Town Manager Kevin Lewis welcomed the new business and told the applicants about a $10,000 sign-and-facade program; he said staff would follow up with an application. Applicants told the board they plan to open in mid-April and expect to operate roughly between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. with Sundays off.
After brief board comments of welcome, a motion to approve the common victualer license was made and seconded and passed unanimously. The chair congratulated the owners and the board completed the licensing vote without additional conditions.
Ledesas’ owners left the meeting with no outstanding requirements noted on the record; Town staff said they would follow up on facade-sign program applications and any remaining licensing paperwork.
The license vote was recorded as passing unanimously; no roll-call tally was recorded in the public minutes.
