Council adopts zoning amendment restricting vehicle parking in village front-yard setbacks

The Commerce City Council adopted an ordinance on second reading Tuesday that amends Title 19 of the Commerce Municipal Code to restrict vehicle parking within front-yard setbacks in the Village (Tract No. 37889).

City staff described the ordinance as a zoning modification to chapter 19.07.07 that clarifies restrictions on parking in front yards and gives additional responsibility to the department director to handle nonstandard areas in the Village. At the conclusion of the second reading, a council member moved to approve the ordinance and the council voted in favor; staff read the title into the record.
