The Bedford Board of Education voted unanimously on May 1 to approve routine minutes and a series of consent items, confirm administrative personnel appointments, adopt two student activity budgets and authorize a compensation agreement with the Village of Walton Hills.
The board approved the minutes from its April 17, 2025 regular session and the April 29, 2025 special meeting. Both motions passed on roll call votes of 4-0. The board also approved the consent agenda by a 4-0 vote.
The board approved administrative personnel as presented, voting 4-0. Board members asked where a newly approved dean position would be placed; district staff said placement is still being decided and that principals will determine where the dean will be assigned. That placement was not decided during the meeting.
The board approved a speaker for the CTAG program by a 4-0 vote.
Treasurer Taylor presented two student activity budget and purpose-and-goal statements — one for the cosmetology program and one for the theater program's spring musical — and the board approved those budgets 4-0.
Taylor also introduced a compensation (CRA) agreement with the Village of Walton Hills. Taylor said the district and Walton Hills "came to what we believe is a very fair agreement for both parties." Tom Consler attended the meeting on behalf of Walton Hills. The board voted 4-0 to approve the CRA agreement. The agreement's financial terms were not specified during the public remarks at the meeting.
All formal motions recorded at the work session carried by unanimous votes (4-0). The board set its next meeting for May 15.
Meeting context: these items were presented as routine business with limited discussion; the only substantive question that arose concerned placement of a dean, which staff said principals will determine.
