District outlines cybersecurity program, multi-year math review and Polaris career expansions

A staff member identified as Shannon said Paradigm will lead monthly meetings, provide a three-course curriculum for grades 10—2, and help arrange local internship opportunities. “It'll be coming March 13 to do a site visit, for the high school. And, also, they will be giving a presentation over lunch,” Shannon said.
On math curriculum, Shannon said the district is locked into using the CPM program for grades 6—2 as of June 2026 and will conduct a study and teacher feedback process through August 2026 to decide whether to renew or adopt alternatives. She described a full-day teacher review of the program’s history and practice and said the district will bring middle- and high-school teachers together for further discussion.
Polaris consortium updates came from Kelly (Polaris representative) and the superintendent. Polaris will host a middle-school robot-battle event and a trades-exposure event for seventh- and eighth-grade girls. Superintendent Diane Zander also described plans for a new engineering, robotics and automation program aimed at fall 2026 and an STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) earn-and-learn pilot with a new employer partner, O'Neil Healthcare, that would run nine-week rotations and include employment prospects.
Why it matters: The cybersecurity pathway and Polaris expansions aim to offer career-technical opportunities and local internships that could prepare students for post-graduation employment. The math-curriculum study affects instructional resources for thousands of students and will inform future resource and professional-development decisions.
