Montgomery County commissioners approved a three‑year hay‑harvest contract and awarded road striping work after bids were reviewed by Public Works.
Public Works introduced Steve Potter as the new assistant director and presented four bids to harvest hay at the AFD landfill site on County Road 2600. The board accepted the recommendation to award the three‑year hay‑harvest contract to Joey Isle of Coffeyville at $1,500 per year.
Public Works also presented two bids for paint striping across approximately 40 miles of chip seal and asphalt this season. Staff recommended Straight Line Striping of Grand Island, Nebraska, which proposed paint at about $25.61 per gallon compared with a competing bid near $48 per gallon. Commissioners accepted the recommendation and authorized the contract.
Public Works reported the South Buckeye Street project opened Friday afternoon and is open to traffic, with some remaining work to finish. Staff said the rebuilt roadway includes wider shoulders and improved safety features.
Board action: motions to approve the hay‑harvest award and to accept the striping bid carried on roll call; commissioners voted yes during each call for the vote.
