Board approves retirements, hires and supplemental duty changes; one abstention recorded

The Fremont City Schools Board of Education approved personnel actions including a retirement, several hires and supplemental duty assignments.
The board accepted the resignation/retirement of Michael Schupenese, a teacher with more than 30 years’ service. The board approved appointments including Hannah Schofner, William Brooks, Brianne Harder and Trent McCurry, plus two additional positions (a fall musical appointment to Elizabeth Schultz and an OST tutor Nicole Amra). Cassidy Price was approved separately as an OST tutor; on that vote, Board Member Mr. Price recorded an abstention.
The board also approved supplemental duty assignments: Jace Vazina (new varsity assistant baseball coach) and Lisa Wolf (returning head tennis coach for the next school year) and two status/contract changes for current staff. The motions for personnel items carried on roll call votes.
Ending: Approved hires and supplemental assignments will be reflected in district personnel records and contracts; the district will process payroll and position assignments for the coming school year.
