Fremont City Schools board approves donations, personnel items, policies and grant appropriations

Fremont City Schools Board of Education approved a package of donations, personnel actions, policy updates and budget adjustments at its Feb. 1 meeting, moving a set of routine and programmatic items by roll-call votes.

The board approved donations from multiple donors, the district’s annual membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (per policy IGDJ for interscholastic athletics), and an agreement with Northpointe Educational Service Center. The board also approved the second reading of policy BDC and the issuance of a Ross High School diploma to Anastasia Cipperly after administration confirmed she met graduation requirements.

Personnel actions approved in a single vote included substitute hires, supplemental contracts, supplemental duty resolutions, status changes, and two new or retitled positions: an assistant athletic director and a personalized learning instructor. Superintendent Hurd said the personalized learning instructor title replaces an existing, grant-supported tutoring role previously referred to as a focused intervention tutor; “they did not like the word tutor,” Hurd said, and the district renamed and retained the same duties.
