Board accepted a proposal from Impact Group to lead a strategic‑planning process beginning this summer; administration said the firm is local and funding will come from educational service center funds.
The Stow‑Munroe Falls City School District Board of Education approved a contract on May 5 with the Impact Group to lead the district’s strategic‑planning process, with a base fee of $29,500 and an optional implementation package that raises the total to $35,000.
Dr. Gould told the board the district received two proposals and recommended Impact Group, whose scope includes stakeholder engagement (surveys, focus groups and interviews), SWOT analysis, goals and measurable action steps and presentation materials. The plan is scheduled to begin in August with work that will extend through December, with implementation support available for an additional fee.
Administrators said they plan to use educational service center funds to pay for the work rather than general operating funds. Dr. Gould said the district expects to start the work at a cabinet retreat in June and then move into community engagement in the fall, with final plan graphics and actionable objectives produced before year‑end.
Board members who attended the Ohio School Boards Association leadership institute said the outside facilitation and the potential for broad community input made Impact Group’s proposal attractive. The board approved the contract by roll call.
The contract description included a one‑hour “whiteboard” session with district leadership, a separate board session, stakeholder engagement by survey and interviews, and deliverables that include measurable goals, timelines and large‑format plan graphics for district display.
