Resident questions NeoNet spending as board approves new NeoNet services contract

Later in the meeting the board approved a contract to continue NeoNet District Technology Services for the 2025–26 school year.
Public commenter Marty Simkins told the board he had reviewed the district’s check registry and said the contract amount was being presented at $324,000 while prior year payments (through April) totaled about $524,000. He said he was concerned about what the district is getting for those dollars and requested a clearer breakdown.
When the board considered the NeoNet contract, administrators explained the district outsources technology services to NeoNet and that the contract represents the salaries and benefits for three full‑time technology employees plus one backend support staff. An administrator identified a person in the audience, Cody, as one of the district technology services team. The board approved the NeoNet services contract by roll call.
The board did not provide a line‑item breakdown of the contract in the public presentation. A board member asked how NeoNet work fits with existing district employees; administration said all tech positions have been outsourced to NeoNet for several years.
