Commission approves $243.12 write-off for uncollectible vaccine billing

To receive free Vaccines for Children (VFC) and 317 state-supplied vaccines, the department may charge an administration fee and mail a single monthly invoice; the policy calls for writing off unpaid accounts after 12 months with commission approval.
Harper presented a table of debt for VFC and 317 vaccine administration charges as of March 31, 2025, and asked the commission to approve a write-off totaling $243.12. A commissioner moved to approve the write-off, a second was given, and the motion carried by voice vote.
The write-off was approved under the county’s existing policy and the health department will proceed to remove the uncollectible balances from its accounts receivable.
