Staff reports progress on Kettering comprehensive plan; public meeting expected in March

City planning staff told the Kettering Planning Commission on Feb. 3, 2025 that early work on the city’s comprehensive plan is underway and the public engagement phase is approaching.
Ryan Homsey, city planner, said the steering committee’s first meeting "went very well," and that the consultant indicated the committee was "very involved" and that staff may add one or two additional steering meetings. Homsey said stakeholder interviews are being scheduled and a business survey will be sent to a list of "about a hundred plus or minus" local businesses so the consultant can gather input.
Staff reported that existing land-use analysis is wrapping up and work is starting on the transportation component of the plan. Homsey said the first official public meeting has not yet occurred but is expected "in early March." Commissioners who attended the steering committee meeting described it as engaging and encouraged continued public participation.
