Hamilton City Council presented proclamations honoring two long-serving Baden High School teachers, Paul Zimmerman and Chuck Minery, and recognized senior Kathleen Burke for academic achievement.
The council read proclamations that described decades of teaching and coaching by Mr. Zimmerman and Mr. Minery, noting classroom teaching, coaching contributions including Baden’s 1990 state championship football season and honors both have received. Council members and several former students and colleagues spoke in praise of the educators’ long service and influence on generations of students. Both teachers are scheduled to retire this year and were invited to speak about their careers; each thanked colleagues, students and family.
The council also presented a proclamation recognizing Kathleen Burke for earning National Merit Scholarship finalist status and for four consecutive years of competition on the high school swim team. Staff noted Burke’s academic record and college plans; she was not present and council said they would deliver the proclamation later.
The presentations were ceremonial; no council action or vote was required.
