Commissioners highlight township breakfast, United Way programs and March 28 debris-management training

Barb Lewis and other commissioners said the township business breakfast held Feb. 11 was well attended, with about 20 people, and included presentations by Job and Family Services and representatives organized by United Way and its Women's Leadership Network.
Commissioners also announced a free Debris Management Workshop offered by the county Emergency Management Agency on March 28 at the EMA office (basement, 10 Court Street). The all-day training runs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and the class was reported as roughly half full when the announcement was made.
The workshop description distributed by the county says it covers planning for, responding to, and recovering from major debris-generating events, including compliance with laws and regulations, contracting procedures, site selection, volume reduction methods, recycling, and special debris situations. Commissioners encouraged attendance by public officials and administrators.
