The Delaware County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 10 to transfer $827,546.20 in casino tax receipts to the county capital fund to pay for equipment and vehicles.
The transfer is the quarterly allocation of casino tax revenue to the capital fund and is included in the county's 2025 budget, Finance Director Justin Avey told the board.
"These monies are going to the capital fund that is used to purchase equipment and vehicles, and this is outlined in the 2025 budget," Avey said. He also said the amount represents roughly a 5% increase compared with the prior year.
Board President Barb Lewis and Commissioner Merrill voted aye on the resolution; one commissioner was recorded absent. No additional conditions or amendments were recorded during the meeting.
The transfer will fund routine capital purchases; the administration did not list specific vehicle or equipment buys during the meeting.
