State rep praises new 'Braden's Law,' asks commissioners to back hazardous-cargo designation on State Route 315

State Representative Brian Bridal Lorenz told the Delaware County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 27 that he is seeking local support for two initiatives: implementation assistance for a newly passed state statute called Braden's Law and a resolution asking state regulators to designate State Route 315 as a hazardous-cargo route.
Bridal Lorenz said the law, which he said “will take effect in April,” was a collaborative effort with county officials and local law enforcement to criminalize sextortion. He thanked Sheriff Jeff Balzer and Delaware County Prosecutor Schifel, saying, “I just really want to take a moment to thank Sheriff Balzer ... and Prosecutor Schifel for coming together and helping us out with that.”
