The Walworth County Children with Disabilities Education Committee on May 21 recommended awarding the 2025–26 school-bus services contract to Dousman Bus Company. Committee members were told the contract would run from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with an estimated cost of just over $100,000 that could vary with student participation and trip needs.
“We selected Dousman Bus Company… The agreement will be able to be renewed up to 4 more years, potentially totaling about $500,000 total,” Matt, a staff member, told the committee during his presentation. He said future annual contract increases would be tied to fuel costs and inflation with a cap at 6% and a minimum increase of 2.5%.
Committee members voted to approve the award recommendation; meeting minutes show a motion and second and a verbal aye vote recorded in the meeting transcript. The award recommendation will move to the county finance committee for final action, the presentation noted.
No substantive objections were recorded in the meeting transcript. The administration said the county purchasing department managed a competitive request-for-proposals process and that Dousman is the current provider for transportation services.
