The disc-golf project has a local partner: Kiwanis Club committed to covering tactical costs estimated at about $5,000 for baskets, concrete and signage; staff said Kiwanis’ contribution would reduce the local match if grant funding is awarded. Recreation staff also said they applied for funds to support downtown tree lighting and other small projects and plan community fundraisers if grant requests are unsuccessful.
No formal council action was taken; staff said they will return with grant outcomes and timelines if awards are received.
