The staff member said that call helps emergency services respond more quickly if a fire escapes.
The same staff report urged caution during planting season, noting large farm equipment increases risk for motorists unfamiliar with rural roads. The official thanked the commission for ongoing support of county services.
Staff also said new floodplain maps went into effect April 23 and are available to the public. Finally, the county gave commissioners advance notice of a rezoning request for a portion of a natural resource lake that staff expects will be a rare and possibly contentious item; the county has notified the first planning district to assist at that hearing.
