Brookings County commissioners on Tuesday approved a set of right‑of‑way occupancy agreements permitting utility work — predominantly converting overhead power to underground — across multiple townships.
The board approved agreement No. 25‑42 (H & D Electric Cooperative, Lake Hendricks Township); No. 25‑43 (Sioux Valley Energy, Argo and Lake Townships); No. 25‑44 (Sioux Valley Energy, Sherman Township); No. 25‑45 (Sioux Valley Energy, Oakwood Township); and No. 25‑46 (Sioux Valley Energy, Windsor Township). Each item was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the chair declared the motions carried.
County staff said the applications are to place overhead power underground and that the documents on file constitute the standard right‑of‑way approvals. No commissioner raised objections during the public motions and votes.
These approvals were routine consent‑agenda or regular‑business items and did not require additional public hearings.
