"The staff found to be in non compliance were 9762 Reagan Drive ... and 9429 Laurel Hill South," a staff member said, adding the photos in the board packet showed overgrown grass and backyard debris and that conditions had not changed since April when photos were taken.
No one appeared at the hearing to speak on behalf of the properties. Alderman Dickerson moved to declare the properties public nuisances and direct cleanup; Aldridge seconded the motion, which carried by voice vote.
Why this matters: the board used its enforcement process to address conditions the city says threaten public health and safety. One property (the third on the published list) was postponed because staff made a public-notice error on the parcel number; a fourth was already cleaned and removed from action.
Next steps: staff will proceed with cleanup of the declared properties and follow the city’s enforcement procedures; the board did not provide an alternate timeline at the meeting.
