"This is a design survey, geotechnical type work. And, a CNI, which is construction engineering," a staff member said. The board was told the goal is to be ready to bid possibly by November, with a roughly six-month construction window if schedules hold.
The contract covers engineering services only; no construction contract was awarded. Board members approved the recommendation by voice vote.
Why this matters: widening Craft Road is intended to improve traffic flow near schools and commercial areas; staff said the work is being put on a faster timetable to allow bidding later this year.
