Park County Solid Waste Board adopts strategies, updates fiscal-year target to 2030

Board members noted they could not implement every listed goal at once and agreed to choose specific items for initial focus at the next meeting. Suggestions raised in discussion included addressing illegal dumping, scheduling site improvements and equipment replacement, and coordinating budget and staff assignments for implementation.
A motion to accept the strategies as the board’s work plan passed by unanimous voice vote.
The board asked staff to return at the next meeting with suggestions for which strategies to begin implementing and what assistance would be needed from county departments, including finance.
The motion does not change existing ordinances or budgets; it adopts the strategies as the board’s priorities and schedules implementation planning for future meetings.
