The Town of Clayton Planning Board unanimously approved minutes from its Jan. 28 meeting and elected Jody Dupree as chair and Derek Applewhite as vice chair during a March 24 meeting.
The approval of the Jan. 28 minutes came on a motion moved by Board member Bland and seconded by Board member McKerny. The roll-call vote was recorded as unanimous; no members voted against or abstained.
Following the minutes vote, a nomination was made for Jody Dupree to serve as planning board chair. With no other nominations, the board conducted a roll-call vote and elected Dupree unanimously. After the vote, Dupree said, “Thank y’all. Appreciate it.”
The board then nominated Derek Applewhite for vice chair. That nomination also passed by unanimous roll-call vote. Meeting chairs and vice chairs will preside over future planning board business, including the board’s scheduled April 28 meeting where staff and the consultant will return with a formal presentation on the Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
