County approves summer road maintenance contract for Cooke City with no rate increase

Park County commissioners approved an annual contract Tuesday to provide summer road maintenance in Cooke City with contractor Bob Smith.
The county’s public works representative said the contract continues a multi-year arrangement because it is inefficient to send county crews from Livingston or Gardiner to Cooke City for seasonal work. The presenter said there is no rate increase from last year and that the contractor has performed satisfactorily in prior seasons. “He does pretty good work. We don't see a rate increase from last year to this year,” the public works representative said.
A commissioner moved to approve the contract; the motion passed by voice vote. The county will proceed with contracted summer maintenance in Cooke City under the terms presented.
