Kirsten (county staff) presented the DPHHS allocation proposal and said it “would include Butte Cares, Lisfree, and Southwest Chemical Dependencies” as the local providers for behavioral‑health and prevention services. Commissioner Vermillion moved to approve the FY25‑26 allocation percentages; a second was recorded and the motion passed by voice vote.
County staff requested an extension of the HR consulting contract with Westaff through May 31, 2025 to allow continued support while staff ramp up. The presenter said the current budget will allow the extension; Commissioner Waltz said the consulting was “money well spent” and moved approval. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The commission also approved an amendment to the janitorial contract for the City‑County Building that increases payment to the contractor by $500 a month, roughly a 14% increase, to cover rate inflation. Erica (finance staff) noted the City covers 23% of that contract. Commissioner Waltz said finding vetted replacement contractors would be difficult and favored approving the amendment; the motion passed by voice vote.
On land use, county staff said SE‑13‑25 (Buford family transfer) had been reviewed by sanitation, the county sanitarian, the county attorney and planning staff and had received preliminary approval. William Buford was present; commissioners voted to approve the family transfer application.
The commission approved a two‑year actuarial services contract with Hilde (total $3,100) required for the annual audit and approved the division’s request to split two seasonal fairgrounds positions into separate postings to improve recruitability.
