Daviess County holds required public hearing on LGA and County Road Aid; no public comments

Daviess County Fiscal Court held a state-required public hearing before its May 8 meeting to receive comments on the county's planned use of Local Government Economic Assistance (LGA) funds and County Road Aid. County Treasurer Mr. Johnson told the court the budget assumes the funds will be used for maintenance and construction of county roads and bridges.
Mr. Johnson said the county anticipates receiving $137,500 in LGA funds and $1,748,706 in County Road Aid in fiscal year 2025'26. He said the hearing is part of the annual budget process and that, if there were no public comments, the court would move forward under the current budget assumptions. "If there are no comments by the public to be considered by the court, we will simply move forward under the current budget assumptions," Johnson said.
The court called for public comment; none was offered. The public portion of the hearing was adjourned and the fiscal court proceeded to its regular agenda.
