High school program of studies ready pending vote; scheduling to use Infinite Campus window
Summary
District staff outlined a revised program of studies covering grades 7–12 and described plans to offer course selection through Infinite Campus after next week’s vote.
District staff presented a revised program of studies for grades 7–12 and told the School Committee the program is ready to be released pending the outcome of next week’s vote.
A staff member summarized that the updates add courses for grades 7 through 12 and include adjustments to teachers’ curricula. The final course runs will depend on student selection numbers. The high school will present options during a single guidance block and open a short window in Infinite Campus for students and families to select courses; staff said guidance and advising will continue by email and direct contact through the start of the school year.
The middle school plan for grades 7 and 8 is not finalized: staff said they will decide whether guidance will go into classrooms in person or whether selection will be handled remotely. Committee members asked clarifying questions about timing and contingency for staffing and budget shortfalls; staff said those factors could affect offerings but that the program of studies is “ready to go” if funding and staffing remain as projected.
Student representative Caleb said many students have asked about the program and that uncertainty stems from the pending vote rather than school staff. Staff encouraged families to watch the posted window on Infinite Campus once it opens.
