County approves right-of-way and property acquisitions for Andover Bridge project

The Department of Public Works requested the approvals to secure land and relocation authority needed to build the bridge.
Tom Windesplees, superintendent of public works, told the board the department "respectfully requests a resolution authorizing the chairman of the board to execute right of way appraisal agreements" for land owned by William Emery and Sean and Michelle Allen and to execute acquisition and relocation agreements for property owned by Dale Gaylord. The board took voice votes and the measures were approved.
No dollar amounts for land purchase or relocation costs were provided in the meeting packet or discussed during the presentation. The resolutions are subject to the usual review by the county attorney before final execution.
The approvals clear a path for the department to proceed with appraisal and acquisition steps the county said are necessary to allow construction of the Andover Bridge when funding and schedules allow.
