At the May 12 meeting the Board of Selectmen accepted with regret the resignation of the town building inspector, who submitted a letter citing an employment opportunity he said he could not decline.
Selectmen congratulated the inspector on the new position and asked the public and local contractors to notify the town if they know qualified candidates. The board discussed advertising the position and encouraged interested residents to apply. The board did not name an interim replacement at the meeting and asked staff to post the vacancy and return with potential candidates or a proposed coverage plan.
The board voted to accept the resignation by voice vote and asked staff to prepare hiring steps and a job posting for future meetings.
