Commission to apply for N.H. "Sponsor a Highway" program to steward state roadways

Jean (Conservation Commission member) noted the DOT accepts online applications and that the program sometimes limits acceptances for particular road segments. She asked the commission to authorize the application; a motion to submit the application was made and seconded, and members voted to proceed.
Commissioners discussed candidate routes and safety considerations; they flagged Route 33 as a location that community members had suggested might benefit but noted it could be more complex because of traffic. The commission will proceed with the online application and follow DOT guidance on approved segments and safety requirements.
