The Breckenridge Planning and Zoning Commission on April 20, 2025 voted to cancel a previously approved replat covering properties known as 105 North Road and 317 West Elm after the owner altered development plans.
Staff explained the replat had been approved earlier to allow the city to acquire and demolish a house, then create a parking lot; the owner, identified in the discussion as Steve Whitmire, has not recorded the replat at the county courthouse and instead plans to retain and use an existing dock facing Walker as a service center and to build the business on the back portion of the property. Because the previously approved replat was not recorded, the commission was asked to formally cancel its earlier approval.
A commissioner moved to cancel the previously approved replat; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff said no rezoning is being requested at this time and that the cancellation is a procedural reversal of the earlier approval.
