Ukiah Airport: runway lights certified, extension study complete, more Jet A capacity planned

Greg Owen, Airport Manager, told the City Council that the airport completed runway lighting work, including certified precision approach path indicator (PAPI) lights, and has finished a runway‑extension study.
Owen said the PAPI lights now meet certification requirements after minimal tree trimming, and the runway‑extension study will feed into an airport business plan staff hopes to present to council before the end of the fiscal year. He also said the airport seeks to convert an existing Avgas tank to increase Jet A storage; initial inspection work was completed and refurbishment bids were solicited to raise storage capacity to roughly 25,000 gallons.
Owen noted the airport will hold its annual Airport Day on the first Saturday in June (June 7) and that electric airplane charging infrastructure has a vendor committed but no installation timetable yet.
No council action was requested. Owen asked council to expect an airport business plan and follow‑up items on fuel storage and infrastructure.
