Separately, the council awarded the demolition contract for the old police substation (Project No. 2025-02) to Central Valley Demolition for a low bid of $29,890 and adopted Resolution 2025-14 to amend the fiscal-year budget and allocate funds for the demolition. Staff reported the total project cost is $39,890 and that funding will come from the city's general fund reserve (budget number 1010-110-7420). The motions passed 3-0.
Council also authorized staff to prepare and release a request for proposals for contractors for the Yosemite Boulevard frontage improvements (Project No. 2025-01). Staff said the improvements will run along Yosemite Boulevard from Eucalyptus Avenue to Rhine Way, fill sidewalk gaps, widen pavement where needed, add curbs and sidewalks, and install storm drainage including French drains under proposed sidewalks. The engineer's estimate for the project is $800,000; staff said the work will be funded by a state Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant and will not use general fund dollars. That motion passed 3-0.
