Wasco County commissioners on Wednesday appointed two community members to county advisory bodies.
Andrew Dannes, staff to the Wasco County Economic Development Commission, asked the board to appoint Jake (Jacob) Anderson to fill the remainder of a term vacated by Dan Spots; Commissioners approved Order 25‑030 to appoint Anderson as the City of The Dalles representative to the EDC through the existing term expiration. Dannes told commissioners Anderson has local experience and the county welcomed his participation.
Planning Division Director Daniel Doherty requested the board appoint Roger Nichols as alternate position No. 6 on the Wasco County Planning Commission to fill the term through Dec. 31, 2026; Doherty said Nichols’s background and Gorge Commission experience made him a strong candidate. The board approved Order 25‑029 appointing Nichols unanimously.
Both appointments were routine and were approved without discussion.
