Council enacts updated building code ordinance (Ordinance 1165)

The City Council on May 5 approved the second reading and adoption of Ordinance 1165, repealing the existing Chapter 90 (Building Code) of the municipal code and enacting a new Chapter 90.
The second reading was moved, seconded and approved on a roll-call vote with all members present voting yes. Councilors indicated they had previously reviewed the ordinance in earlier meetings and that the current vote completed the adoption process.
No public comment was offered during the second-reading vote. City staff and council members said the item had been reviewed in prior work sessions and would take effect as provided in the ordinance text.
