The Rock Hill City Council on May 12 approved an agreement that “articulates the working relationship” between the city and the Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation, City staff said.
City staff member Lisa Brown told the council, “Tonight before you is an agreement seeking to articulate the working relationship between the city of Rock Hill and the Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation.” She said the agreement reflects ongoing partnership and alignment of economic-development goals after RHEDC was reconstituted in recent years and the board’s size was reduced.
Brown told the council the executive committee of RHEDC has already approved the agreement. There was no discussion before the council voted to approve the measure on the consent calendar.
The agreement was presented to the council without a recorded roll-call of individual votes; the mayor called for the ayes and the item was approved.
City staff did not provide additional funding details or a copy of the final agreement during the meeting, and the council did not request further changes at the time.
