Staff presented a sample Youth Risk Behavior and Tobacco Survey instrument and asked board members to review it and recommend any questions to be amended or removed. The survey, staff said, is anonymous and submitted results are required by the state; Pender High School was the campus proposed to conduct the survey and would receive a $500 stipend for participation.
Staff noted some questions previously included on the survey had been removed following changes to state guidance, including items related to gender identity. Board members were asked to notify staff of any items they wanted removed prior to the district’s administration of the instrument.
