Transportation staff reported the district received five proposals for a bus radio system; the formal bid opening was scheduled for the day of the meeting at 1 p.m., with evaluation afterward and a staff recommendation to the board at the next regular meeting.
Staff said the county commissioners had allotted an additional $300,000 specifically for radio equipment purchase and tower-space fees. The district will complete a bid evaluation with representatives from operations and procurement before advancing a recommendation to the board.
On vehicle procurement, staff said the district currently operates seven activity buses more than 20 years old, three of which have more than 200,000 miles. The low quote on submitted estimates was from White’s International; staff said they plan to advance a purchase recommendation to the regular board consent or action agenda at the next meeting.
Staff asked board members whether pay applications and change order logs for the new K–8 construction should appear on the consent agenda or as action items; the team said pay applications would likely be presented on the consent agenda unless board members request otherwise.
