Dr. Kelly Henson, who presented the plan at the April Committee of the Whole and returned to the board for a final vote, said the plan had been available for the board—s review for the required 30 days. "At the April Committee of the Whole, I brought forward the proposed local AIG plan for 25—28," Henson told the board before the vote.
Board member Kevin Angel moved to approve the plan; Rhonda Hoke seconded. Chairman Knight called the vote; the motion passed with six votes in favor and one abstention. The minutes record that board member Cindy Haynes abstained from the vote.
The approval allows district staff to transmit the local plan to the state education office as required. The board did not add conditions to the approval during the meeting, and no changes were recorded in the public discussion before the vote.
The vote concluded a monthlong review period that followed the plan's presentation to the Committee of the Whole. The board's action is procedural: forwarding the locally approved plan to the state for its review and any state-required actions.
Board members and staff signaled no additional follow-up tasks during the motion and vote; if the state requests changes, staff would return with revisions as required.
