Park electronic signage (Job No. 529) Award construction contract to Square Signs LLC (Front Signs) in the amount of $435,015.85 plus a $87,000 contingency and an additional $12,000 for construction support services (DVD), funded from parking reserves. Project will replace the existing LED message sign, install 20x14-foot double-sided LED screen on 30-foot posts, and construct new curbs and landscaping at Raleigh Park/Van Ness. Freeman Park baseball diamond renaming Resolution No. 66-96 approving the name change of the Freeman Park baseball field to "Ichikawa Nippon Yakyu Field" in recognition of Gardena’s sister-city relationship with Ichikawa, Japan. Motion by Mayor Pro Tem Tanaka, second by Councilmember Henderson; roll call unanimous (all yes). Council scheduled a dedication in July 2025 timed with an Ichikawa youth visit.
South Bay Council of Governments (SBCOG) appointments Resolution No. 66-97 designating Council delegates to the South Bay COG: Mayor Pro Tem Rodney Tanaka as delegate and Councilmember Mark E.
