During the March 4 meeting the community development director reviewed upcoming city events and administrative requirements for appointed officials.
The director announced the State of the City address is scheduled for Thursday, March 13 at 6 p.m., and mentioned an annual Casino Night event occurring the following evening. The director also reminded commissioners of a council-adopted code of conduct that staff asked all appointed officials to read and acknowledge; city attorney Ms. Vasquez was present to answer questions about the document.
Staff explained that Form 700 (Statement of Economic Interests) filings are due April 1 and that this year the city is facilitating filings through the same online system used for recent ethics training. Staff noted the Fair Political Practices Commission can assess fines for missed filings and referenced the potential $10-per-day penalty mentioned in the meeting. Commissioners were advised to contact the city clerk's office for assistance with the online filing system.
