Mill Creek Promise reports program growth, new data‑tracking and spring events

Meyer said staff and partners have been refining a strategic framework connecting community goals — such as meeting basic needs and improving graduation rates — to program strategies. Enrique described a new tracking spreadsheet that will log each Promise event and enable quarter‑by‑quarter review of “well‑off” and “better‑off” outcome measures. “We’re all about tracking data,” Enrique said, explaining the system will let staff pull real‑time metrics on participation and outcomes.
Recent activities included digital‑arts programming with Spy Hop for youth, a student art showcase at City Hall, interfaith harmony events, prevention‑day advocacy, and a student intern from Skyline High School. Meyer said the Promise program recently served 99 unique individuals in its digital‑skills programming and expects that number to rise this year as new classes finish.
Upcoming items: youth scholarships with applications due the following Friday, a Bud Bailey Resource Fair on April 15, a William Penn School centennial event on April 24 (school/PTA planned), and a Moss Elementary bike‑rodeo and summer‑learning fair planned for May 1. Meyer said Promise will also participate in the mayor’s Star of Excellence awards and an English‑skills certificate ceremony for adult learners.
Council members asked to receive calendar invites for events and discussed a possible naturalization ceremony in coordination with Salt Lake County welcoming‑week planning.
