The Millcreek City Community Renewable Energy Agency board voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 25-6, which recognizes Midvale City as a voting member once the agency receives Midvale's second payment.
Mayor Jeff Silverstein moved to adopt Resolution 25-6; Councilor Drew Quinn seconded. The chair called for a voice vote and the motion passed unanimously.
Emily Quinton told the board that Midvale’s payment will increase the agency’s budget to about $721,000 (up from an original $700,000 in earlier materials) and that updated participation percentages reflecting Midvale as a voting member are included in the board packet. The resolution was characterized in the packet as a recognition of Midvale taking an action “above and beyond” the originally contemplated pathway to joining the agency: the city council approved making its second and final payment and conditioned its voting status on receipt.
Board members praised Midvale’s early participation; Mayor Silverstein and other members said the city’s earlier vote to join and its unanimous council approval to make the second payment showed commitment. The adoption of Resolution 25-6 completes the administrative step to update participation percentages and formally add Midvale as a voting member upon receipt of payment.
