The Weld County Board of Commissioners on April 30 read and signed a proclamation declaring May 2025 as National Mental Health Month and invited representatives from North Range Behavioral Health to speak on local behavioral-health services.
Camilla (last name not given) and North Range representatives described local services and outreach. Becky Weicker, identified as chief clinical officer, said North Range serves about 18,000 unique individuals in Weld County annually and operates locations in Windsor, Frederick and Fort Lupton. Weicker told commissioners that “for every $1 that is spent in mental health treatment, it saves our first responder system, our emergency health care systems, on average, dollars 4,” and encouraged officials to support awareness and access.
Commissioners thanked North Range for its work; several said they would welcome facility tours and noted the importance of prevention and whole-person wellness. The proclamation called on residents, agencies, schools and businesses to recommit to increasing understanding of behavioral health and improving access to services.
The proclamation was signed by all five commissioners.
