Weld County commissioners approve package of contracts, equipment purchases and a temporary road closure

The Weld County Board of Commissioners on April 30 approved a series of procurement resolutions and administrative items addressing corrections services, fleet and public-works equipment, a temporary road closure and right-of-way agreements.
The board voted 3-0 to: approve Bid B2500008 to Intervention Inc. (doing business as Intervention Community Corrections Services) to continue services at the Weld County Community Corrections Facility; authorize purchase of a 2025 Ford F-550 chassis per a Colorado State contract for $59,517 for Fleet Services; authorize purchase of a 2025 Trail King hydraulic tail trailer under cooperative Sourcewell contract 092922-TKI for $126,267.40; approve a temporary closure of County Road 77 between County Roads 106 and 120 from May 19 through Oct. 31 for a road-improvement project (local access to be maintained and detour routes signed); and approve a structure agreement for Raptor Materials LLC for sand-and-gravel mining operations near County Roads 28 and 17.
Toby Taylor of Purchasing summarized the solicitations and said departments had reviewed proposals and would return with recommendations where required. Tammy Grant, deputy director of the Department of Human Services, presented contract ID 9372 to place a newly certified kinship foster-care provider (Alexander and Britney Clark) on county contract; the board approved the contract with a one-year term beginning April 21, 2025.
Public Works staff said the County Road 77 closure will accommodate drainage, subgrade and paving work; the closure dates are timed to avoid Pawnee School District graduation and the Grover Rodeo, and crews will leave the road open during the Wednesday before the rodeo and reclose afterward. Staff said local access will be preserved and variable message boards will be used to warn drivers.
Mike Connery, assistant county attorney, explained that a liquor sales-room license for Rock and Roll Brewery LLC is issued by the state and the county’s role is limited to confirming zoning; staff reported the property has been administratively approved for a zoning permit (ZPAD 24-0007) and recommended the board convey no objection to the state.
Motion and vote details were recorded on the meeting agenda for each item; all listed motions passed unanimously by the three commissioners present.
