County authorizes clerk’s office to sign CBI CJIS user agreement for liquor-license checks

Weld County commissioners on April 21 approved a user agreement with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) access by the clerk to the board’s office to perform background checks for liquor-license applicants.
Matt Conroy, assistant county attorney, explained the resolution authorizes the clerk to sign the agreement, and designates Deputy Clerk Chloe White as terminal agency coordinator and local agency security officer because she performs background checks for liquor licenses. Conroy said the clerk’s office is preparing for a CBI audit beginning in May, and the resolution would formalize the access and responsibility assignments.
Commissioner Peppler moved to approve; Commissioner Voss seconded. The board approved the resolution on a voice vote.
